Art Photos

I seem to work well under pressure. About once a year, my best friend and I do an art show together at some cafe. We always know the date of the show at least 6 months in advance, but we don't do anything for it until three weeks before the show starts. We scramble to finish stuff, having crazy late nights of artistic frenzy. I don't know why, but this method has been successful for us.

When people ask me to describe my style, I am always at a loss for words... "uh, I don't know. It's just a bunch of stuff stuck together. Here is how I figure it, I don't draw, paint, or sculpt well... but I can put a bunch of stuff together and make it look good. I usually start with an old black and white photo of people I don't know, then I write a story about what I think was happening in the photo, pasting on other images to tie it all in. I call this instant memories. I'm making memories for something that doesn't exist. I like to tell stories that I think many people can relate to. My artwork has a since of home and remembering, it makes you reflect on life.

Text is an important part of my artwork, but it's hard to capture in photos. I've included some of the poems/text. Click here if ya' wanna read some.
